| Failed conservative treatment | Engaging Hill-Sacks lesion |
| Primary and revision surgery with bony Bankart lesion < 20% of the glenoid surface [10] | Bony Bankart lesion > 20% of the glenoid surface [10] |
| Severe impairment of the anterior capsule at surgery | Previous surgery on the same shoulder for non-instability issues |
| Large Bankart lesion | Autoimmune disorders (i.e. rheumatoid arthritis) |
